Wasco County Soil and Water Conservation District
" Serving the people of Wasco County since 1942"
The Wasco County Soil and Water Conservation District provides information and technical assistance to assist the people of Wasco County in conservation of their natural resources.

Through partnerships with local organizations and public agencies, the district promotes a locally led, cooperative approach to natural resource concerns. The district is guided in its efforts by a Board of Directors, Watershed Councils, community at large, and at the state level by the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

OWEB Small Grant Program
The Small Grant Program is an easy-to-engage-in, competitive grant program that awards funds of up to $10,000 for on-the-ground restoration projects.
Since its inception in 2001, OWEB’s Small Grant Program has funded over 2,281 Small Grant projects on principally private lands across Oregon. The Small Grant Program responds to a need for local decision-making about watershed restoration opportunities on a shorter timeframe than is available under OWEB’s regular grant program.
The Small Grant Program enables landowners across the state to contribute to the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds and the Oregon Conservation Strategy by committing “small acts of kindness” on their properties for the benefit of water quality, water quantity, and fish and wildlife. From planting native plants along stream sides to reducing sedimentation and erosion from upland farms and ranches, citizens everywhere can make a difference.
If you are a landowner, live in Wasco County, Oregon, and would like to apply, contact Abbie at 541-296-6178 ext 102.
